Representing the State of Oregon will be Mark Heizer, PE, LEED AP – Mechanical Code and Energy Code Engineering, Oregon Building Codes Division 1.
Mission: To work with Oregonians to ensure safe building construction while promoting a positive business climate within the state.
Who BCD is:Â The Building Codes Division administers Oregon’s Statewide Building Code, which provides uniform standards that ensure newly constructed residential and commercial buildings are safe for citizens to occupy.
The state legislature established a “uniform” building code in 1973. The division also administers and regulates building laws and rules, and licenses qualified businesses and individuals working in these trades: electrical, plumbing, boiler and pressure vessel, and elevator.
The city of Portland will have Janell Piercy, Residential Inspection Supervisor, along with representative of other jurisdictions.
Please don’t miss this opportunity to learn what is new with the state, the mechanical codes and your local jurisdictions.
We will learn what is new with virtual inspections and other new programs. This is your chance to speak directly to officials and discuss how codes are being enforced and interpreted in different jurisdictions, this designed to be an open forum in which ideas can be shared and resolutions made.
We look forward to seeing everyone who cares about our industry!
The Oct. 2nd ORACCA Meeting will be held at NW College of Construction located at 8111 NE Holman St. Portland, OR. 97218 from 11:30AM-1:00PM.
